In Roman tradition, Vesta was the guardian of the hearth — the fixed point a household was built around. That's the role we aim to play for the organisations we work with: a stable centre for risk, safety and resilience while everything else scales.
Rick van Ewijk founded Vesta Advisory after a career built around safety-critical aviation — flying and instructing on military and multinational air mobility operations, including simulator-based training on the C-17 Globemaster III, where the margin for error is measured in lives, not budget lines.
That background shapes how Vesta works: risk frameworks that are stress-tested by design, safety systems built to be used rather than filed away, and a belief that resilience is a discipline you train, not a document you write once.
Rick holds an MSc in Safety and Risk Management and a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, and is completing further credentials in enterprise risk management. Vesta Advisory is based in Bali, with a growing Indonesia-based team.
No risk register is useful if it's written to be comfortable. We name exposure plainly, before it becomes a headline.
A safety system nobody follows isn't a safety system. Everything we build is designed to survive contact with a busy team.
Just culture isn't a slogan — it's how organisations actually get safer, one honest debrief at a time.
